You want to meet with friends, but your house is a mess, your kids are driving you nuts and you and your husband are totally overworked... let others do the work for you. There are several great places in and around Basel where you can go for a brunch on Saturdays or Sundays with your family and take your friends along. Find below some of my favourite choices.
ParkpavillionMy most convenient choice in Basel is the Pavillion at Schützenmattpark. It is situated in midst of various playgrounds in the center of Schützenmattpark where toddlers can roam around. The brunch buffet is well stocked, the prices are ok too.

Schällenursli
Another great place to go is Schällenursli which is a restaurant on a farm on St. Margarethen Hill. It is only a few minutes from Basel city center by public transport and a two minute walk uphill (which is easy to do also with a twin stroller).
Schällenursli is an elegant, but family friendly restaurant located in a former barn. The brunch is very well stocked with local produce and there are bobbycars for children and of course farm animals to look at.
